“Seeing natural synergies with its bookselling business, Amazon on Thursday said it was buying recommendation site Goodreads. “Goodreads has helped change how we discover and discuss books and, with Kindle, Amazon has helped expand reading around the world,” Amazon VP Russ Grandinetti said in a statement. “Together we intend to build many new ways to delight readers and authors alike.” Amazon didn’t disclose the terms of the deal, but said it should close in the second quarter.
